Deyanera is a contemporary Greek knitwear brand that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design, creating distinctive handmade and machine-knitted pieces.

We were commissioned to redesign the brand’s visual identity, a challenge that required a thoughtful approach, as Deyanera had already established a recognizable presence among its audience. With the introduction of menswear into its collections, the brand needed to move beyond its previously feminine aesthetic towards a more contemporary, gender-neutral identity, while preserving the elements that made it distinctive.

Concept

The concept was built around evolution rather than reinvention. Our goal was to preserve the brand’s visual heritage while introducing a more refined, confident, and timeless character.

We retained the original symbol, refining its proportions, strengthening its strokes, and creating more balanced, connected curves. The heart-shaped detail was transformed into a sharper, needle-inspired form, reinforcing the connection to the art of knitting while maintaining the symbol’s recognizable silhouette.

Custom Typography

Typography played a defining role in the redesign. We developed a custom wordmark inspired by classic serif letterforms, introducing carefully crafted characters, balanced proportions, and distinctive details.

Moving away from the previous delicate and feminine typography, the new letterforms establish a stronger, more sophisticated, and gender-neutral expression, reflecting the brand’s evolution and expanding product range.

Visual Identity

The refined symbol and custom typography work together to create a cohesive and distinctive visual language. Balancing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, the new identity introduces a more confident and versatile character while preserving Deyanera’s authenticity.

The visual system was designed to maintain consistency across physical and digital applications, from garment labels and packaging to brand communications.

Outcome

The result is a refined and timeless identity that reflects Deyanera’s evolution from a predominantly feminine knitwear brand towards a more inclusive, gender-neutral positioning.

By preserving its recognizable symbol while redefining its typography and overall visual character, we established a stronger and more versatile brand identity, capable of representing both womenswear and menswear without compromising its heritage.
